EX couple havnt recognized their 10 yrs son she suggests him and future wife to adopt the son????

Ex girlfriend suggest "kindly" to her ex boyfriend after 10 years when he is about to marry next month that he as the father of her son as well as his fiance will consider the idea of adopting their son for him to come and live in the states. Is it common that a mother and a father that haven't recognized their own child suggest kindly that someone else (me his wife to be) will take care of their responsibility as parents after 10 years? am I wrong when I think that they are irresponsible and immature enough by suggesting this when they have never recognize their son? Or M I I wrong to think this way?
