Professional Geologist Question?

I am about to start university and I am contemplating a few options. Currently the job prospects and earning potential of geologists looks very good. I am going to attend UBC and they offer Geological Engineering and a Honors program in Geological Sciences. Both will give me the certification to be a professional geoscientist. Which of the two undergrad programs would be better to pursue to acquire jobs in the mining industries of Canada and Australia?
