Questions about UBC acceptance?

I have read the website, all I see about grade 11 marks being necessary is that they check for completion, but my mom heard from some friends of hers or something that they look at your grade 11 marks for early acceptance. Is this true? I can't find any information on that on the official website, but apparently she's asked a few of her friends who's kids have already been accepted because of this, or have been turned down because of it. If it's not true, can you tell me about the early acceptance? Anything would be great, thanks.
